The energy-efficient NG8POE-M2 network switch connects up to eight devices to a Gigabit Ethernet network and allows them to communicate with each other. It's recommended for your home network, small office, workgroup or creative production environment. It helps you share large bandwidth-intensive files, such as CAD drawings and videos, at 2.5 Gigabit (2.5 Gbps) speeds, improving efficiency and cutting costly downtime.

Maximum Network Functionality

The NG8POE-M2 features eight twisted-pair RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports that support auto-negotiable 2.5 Gbps and auto MDI/MDIX functionality, so crossover cables and uplink ports are not needed for connections to PCs, routers and other switches. No configuration is required, so you can have your Gigabit network up and running immediately. IEEE 802.3x flow control (full duplex), back pressure (half duplex) and 60 Gbps switching capacity allow smooth transmission of large files. One 10 Gbps SFP+ port is included for uplinking data to other switches using optical fiber cabling.

Supports Power over Ethernet to Save You Money and Give You More Installation Choices

Because this network switch supports PoE, it can supply the power to operate compatible PoE devices, such as wireless LAN access points and bridges, VoIP phones and IP video cameras. This saves you the expense and effort of purchasing, connecting and installing individual power supplies for each device. It also helps you install PoE devices in areas far away from AC outlets, such as poles or ceilings. Eight RJ45 ports support up to 30W each with a total PoE budget of 100W when using the included AC power adapter.

Complies with IEEE Energy Efficient Ethernet Standards

The NG8POE-M2 supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standards by automatically shifting unused ports into a low-power state without interrupting network connections. It also meets IEEE 802.3ab, 802.3i and 802.3u standards.

Plug-and-Play Functionality for Easy Use

No configuration is required in setting up the unmanaged NG8POE-M2, so you can have your 2.5 Gbps network up and running immediately. Cat5/5e/6/6a UTP/STP cables (sold separately) provide optimal performance. Easy-to-read LEDs indicate connection and activity status for each port. The NG8POE-M2 supports MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging for efficient routing.

Heavy-Duty Metal Enclosure with Versatile Installation Options

This plug-and-play switch comes with an external power supply and two detachable power cords: NEMA 5-15P and Schuko. Both power cords connect to the power supply's C14 inlet. The housing contains no fan, resulting in silent operation. The NG8POE-M2 is designed for desktop placement, but also features keyhole tabs for optional wall mounting.
