Equipped with NEC Display Solutions's NaViSet software, the NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX enables professionals to easily adjust display settings with a mouse and keyboard instead of using the monitor's up-front buttons. The NaViSet Administrator software includes Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), providing IT professionals with remote control and access to the monitor and its settings without having to disrupt users. These capabilities are based on the Display Data Channel Command Interface (DDC/CI), which allows control commands to be sent directly to the monitor by a local system or remotely over an existing network (LAN).

The monitor offers a virtually uninterrupted display of full-motion video with a response time of 25 ms using NEC's Rapid Response technology. It delivers streaming video for gaming and video applications without distracting ghosting or blurring, while achieving up to 40 frames per second.

Enhanced control over the NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX monitor is extended to the advanced user menu, which delivers additional user-control features including automatic black level adjustment for easy management of grayscale images. AutoBright is another capability that enables professionals to adjust brightness levels based on the screen for optimal readability, reducing eyestrain and conserving energy. To minimize the need for users to modify their settings, Advanced No Touch Auto Adjust provides an optimal image upon initial power-on and detects closed signal changes even if they run under the same resolution and refresh rates to create a more stable image after switching.

The NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX monitor delivers crisp images and text with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 @ 60 HZ. With XtraView wide-angle viewing technology, the NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX provides flexible horizontal and vertical viewing angles up to 170-degrees. To add flexibility, the monitor not only offers a height-adjustable stand and has the capability to pivot; it also enables touch or protective glass integration.
