Ariba Support

Ariba's eCommerce platform is an open, global platform that uses cXML, EDI, OBI, secure HTML, email, auto-fax, and CIF to automatically route and translate transactions between buying organizations and suppliers. 

The first supplier to build support for Ariba's cXML protocol, SHI joined the Ariba Network Service in September of 1999, with a 10-day integration of cXML. As a customer selects goods for purchase from their custom catalog at www.shi.com, those items are automatically added to the end-user's electronic purchase requisition. Once approved within the customer's Ariba application, the order is automatically returned to www.shi.com via cXML and the items are purchased.  SHI also offers Ariba CIF files as an alternative. 

SHI is currently in production with a number of Ariba customers. We are also supporting the pilot programs of the first customers to roll out Internet catalog shopping. SHI   appeared with Ariba at the 1999 Supplier Council and provided the supplier keynote speaker at their Customer Advisory Council.

Intelisys

The Intelisys ConnectTrade e-Procurement solution assists customers in creating the most beneficial purchasing environment by cutting expenses and administrative overhead, reducing paperwork and providing real-time data from suppliers.

SHI has been working with Intelisys since 1998. One of the unique benefits of SHI e-commerce, customized online catalogs, is made available to Intelisys customers via SHI’s internally developed OBI interface. SHI customers have secure access to a catalog created specifically for their organization; each catalog is created by the customer’s SHI Account Executive and can be completed in a matter of minutes.

Aside from integrating Intelisys e-Marketplace into our website, SHI has participated in other Intelisys projects such as Multi-state Emall, the first government-to-business multi-state eprocurement system in the U.S.

Peregrine Systems

SHI's partnership with Peregrine enables mutual customers to make e-procurement an integral component of their asset management system. Peregrine offers the only e-procurement solution specifically designed for the acquisition and management of technology assets. Customers can buy from SHI using Peregrine's open, any-to-any B2B trading hub, which processes approx. 1.2 million transactions per day.  

As a customer selects items for purchase from their custom catalog at www.shi.com, those items are automatically added to the end-user's electronic purchase requisition. Once approved within the customer's Peregrine application, the order is automatically returned to www.shi.com via cXML and the items are purchased.  Peregrine supports the purchase of software licenses as well as off-the-shelf items.

Oracle

Oracle chose SHI to join a group of premier suppliers to integrate with Oracle Exchange. The Oracle Exchange platform supports a supply chain from initial contact to manufacturing, planning and execution, to post sales, on-going service and support.

SHI's integration with Oracle allows customers to increase operational efficiency through streamlined, automated procurement functions. As a customer selects goods and services for purchase from their custom catalog at www.shi.com, those items are automatically added to the end-user's electronic purchase requisition. Once approval is obtained through the customer’s Oracle application, the order is returned to www.shi.com via cXML and the selected items are purchased and scheduled for delivery.

Open Buying on the Internet (OBI)

OBI, developed by the Open Buying on the Internet Consortium, is an easy to use, open, standards-based purchasing solution, with a flexible platform-neutral architecture, for the high-volume, low cost procurement of products and services. The exchange of OBI order requests and OBI orders is accomplished via HTTP over an SSL connection. SHI's first OBI integration was completed in 1999; a further example of the efficient and convenient procurement options available to customers of SHI.

Proprietary Systems

SHI is willing and able to integrate with any existing procurement system, open or proprietary. We have created over one dozen interfaces for customers' proprietary procurement systems.  We can build support for your proprietary system in as little as 2 weeks. Some of SHI's current customers require support for up to 5 different procurement systems.
